Role summary
This is a specialist rotational Band 6 Paediatric Physiotherapist role, working 2 days/week (0.4 wte) as part of a job share within an integrated care organisation. The post holder will deliver physiotherapy to children with additional needs in Islington, across three core rotations. The role involves working in various settings like special schools, mainstream schools, and family homes. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical practice, evidence-based approaches, and a commitment to continued professional development.
Key responsibilities
- Accept clinical responsibility for own caseload and prioritise appropriately, working without direct supervision.
- Undertake comprehensive assessment of paediatric patients with diverse or complex presentations/multi pathologies.
- Deliver appropriate physiotherapy intervention with colleagues within the multi-agency team.
- Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes regularly as required.
- Work closely with Education in the EHCP and Annual Review process.
- Ensure documentation is accurate and meets legal standards required by CSP and the Trust.
Essential criteria
- Good written/spoken English
- Degree / Diploma in Physiotherapy
- HCPC registration
- Post-registration training / courses in paediatric Physiotherapy
- Commitment to clinical and professional development in the specialised field of paediatric physiotherapy
- Experience working in Paediatric Physiotherapy
- Robust experience of managing own physio caseload, prioritisation, autonomous working
- Evidence of proactive approach to ongoing CPD and learning in topics relevant to Paediatric Physiotherapy
Desirable criteria
- Varied experience of Paediatrics in different areas - neuro, MSK etc
- Varied experience of working in different areas of physiotherapy overall.
- Experience of working in community - home visits etc
- Experience of working in education, including special schools
- Experience working in public health systems
- Knowledge of EHCP process, annual review process and experience writing reports
- Evidence of knowledge and implementation of best practice, EBP, QI in field of Paediatric Physio.

Job summary
We are looking for an experienced physiotherapist to take up a specialist roleas a rotational Band 6 Paediatric Physiotherapist in our supportive team for 2 days/week (0.4 wte) as part of a job share . This role is in an integrated care organisation, based in community, working in Islington Additional Needs & Disability Service.
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day delivery of physiotherapy to children with a variety of additional needs in Islington. There are three core rotations which are usually approximately 12 months to gain a depth of experience. Depending on experience and service needs the post holder will work across our main therapy teams which include:
- Special Schools Team (based at Richard Cloudesley Schools)
- Mainstream Schools Team
- Paediatric Musculoskeletal Team ( 0-18)
- Early Years Development team
Many of our services are based out of the Northern Health Centre in Islington which is a local children's services hub. In addition we work with local schools, nurseries and in family homes.
