Role summary
The Procurement Manager will join the procurement team at University Hospitals, Coventry. This role involves assisting the Head of Procurement in delivering the Trust's Procurement Strategy and providing an effective service for procurement projects. The successful candidate will achieve cost efficiency benefits, demonstrate value for money, and ensure compliance with regulations. Responsibilities also include identifying standardisation opportunities and evaluating supply chain activities for cost-effectiveness.
Essential criteria
- oHold or be studying for full CIPS qualifications. oFirst level Degree or equivalent experience
- oIn depth specialist knowledge of purchasing gained through experience. oExperience of working in a public sector procurement environment. oExperience of line management responsibilities
Desirable criteria
- oExperience in the use of electronic tendering systems and other purchasing systems.
- oProfessional knowledge of purchasing procedures and skills acquired in a professional environment and via study. oUnderstanding of public sector procurement rules and regulations.
- oAble to work independently when required. oAble to lead team members. oCompetent to intermediate level at Word, Excel and e-mail oDemonstrable time management skills oExcellent customer care skills. oGood written and verbal communication skills. oAble to deal with complex facts and situations requiring analytical & problem-solving skills. oAble to concentrate long periods of time whilst using a PC.skills oAble to communicate clearly with a range of people including colleagues, Trust staff, suppliers. oAble to provide direction, influence, persuade and negotiate. oAble to travel to various UK locations independently for meetings exhibitions etc.

Job summary
The Procurement & Supplies Dept. are looking to appoint a Procurement Managerto join their procurement team based at University Hospitals, Coventry.
The successful applicant will have previous experience of working in a Procurement team and applicants shouldhave some knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and experience in administering EU tenders.
Ideally you will be educated to degree level, qualified or studying towards MCIPS and possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Main duties of the job
