Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and dynamic Registered Nurse to join the Acute Stroke Response Team. The role involves delivering rapid, high-quality care and improving outcomes for patients with suspected stroke. As an autonomous practitioner, you will be responsible for early identification, triage, and assessment, ensuring timely intervention and progression through the stroke pathway. You will work closely with medical colleagues and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate and evaluate care. Based in the Emergency Department, you will facilitate assessment and safe clinical transfer of patients.

- Nurse Swallow Screen training
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale training
- Nasogastric tube insertion
- Education/Teaching qualification
- Willingness to undertake venepuncture and cannulation training
- Medical Nurse Experience
- Experience in an acute stroke setting or stroke rehabilitation
- Experience of assessing potential stroke patients for acute stroke management

- Regular Attendance
- Ability to work flexibly within working hours of ward/department.
- Demonstrate professionalism and patient advocacy.
