Role summary

This role is for a Senior Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, Band 6, working part-time (18.75 hours a week) within the Pelvic Health Therapy Service. The post holder will manage patients during pregnancy, postnatally, and with pelvic pain or pelvic floor dysfunction across outpatient and group settings in Gloucestershire. Key responsibilities include providing evidence-based treatment, supporting team leadership, and contributing to service development and evaluation. The role offers opportunities for personal development within a supportive and innovative team.

Essential criteria

  • Degree/diploma in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy
  • Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council

Desirable criteria

  • Completed or working towards completion of relevant post graduate training e.g. POGP short course
  • Experience of working within a Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Service in a healthcare setting
  • Experience of supervising, appraising, and providing education/training to others
  • Knowledge, skills, abilities
  • Deliver a high level of skill in assessment and management of complex patients with urinary incontinence and prolapse.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and written when interacting with patients/carers, other team members and the MDT.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply and utilise evidence-based practice, including National guidelines to deliver, evaluate and audit the service.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the biopsychosocial approach to managing long term conditions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to network with other professionals and set up close working relations
  • Work flexibly in response to the changing demands of the service and manage changes in service delivery in self and others.
  • To have access to roadworthy transport, to be able to travel to multiple locations within a working day which is likely to be covering a large geographical rural area.

  • Work effectively as a team member within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Work and maintain judgement under pressure whilst effectively managing own and others' time.
  • Demonstrate commitment to personal development and recording CPD.
