- Knowledge and Experience
- A thorough proven knowledge of Respiratory and Sleep Physiology
- A wide range of abilities in performing and reporting lung function tests & sleep monitoring.
- Demonstrable experience of working in respiratory physiology
- Aptitude & Abilities
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team using individual initiative
- The ability to integrate quickly into the lung function department
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good time management

Job summary
To provide a clinical role within respiratory physiology at Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust. Working at the CDC / Derriford and Dartmoor Building.
To plan, undertake and perform simple, specialist, complex and highly complex diagnostic assessments in accordance with ARTP/BTS guidelines.
To provide a highly specialist clinical, technical service which contributes to the diagnosis, management, and further treatment of patients.
The post holder will prioritise demands, accommodate unplanned events and work without supervision.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
Main duties of the job
To deliver Lung Function & Sleep Service to users from appropriate authorised referrals, performing a range of diagnostic tests, presenting results back to the referrer with appropriate comments or report and problem solving.
To support the Senior Specialist Physiologists in developing the service.
To provide educational aspects of clinical physiology within PHT including delivery of education to medical and non-medical members of the multi-disciplinary.
Using a range of highly specialist equipment.
