Role summary

Job summary

The Integrated Procedures Unit (IPU) has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, organised and competent Staff Nurse to join our core nursing team.

This role is for 37.5 hours per week, worked over 4 days. IPU is currently open 07:30-19:30 Monday to Friday, so this is a great opportunity to achieve an excellent work-life balance whilst joining a dynamic nurse-led service.

Main duties of the job

o To assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients undergoing a diverse range of day case procedures.o Act as a clinical role model for new staff, reflecting the philosophy, beliefs and standards of the department.o To effectively communicate with all members of the multidisciplinary team to promote a positive working partnership across all IPU services.o To act as a preceptor/mentor/clinical supervisor for junior staff and students.o Ensure that all prescribed drugs and treatments are given correctly and in accordance with Trust policy, including the correct care and custody of controlled drugs.o Rotate onto the day of surgery admissions unit.o Rotate into the endoscopy unit.o R
