Role summary

Wye Valley NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Band 6 Lead Pharmacy Technician for Theatres and Women's Health. This role involves delivering a high-quality clinical pharmacy service across Theatres, Critical Care, Women's and Children's services. You will work closely with patients and the multidisciplinary team, supporting medicines reconciliation, therapeutic monitoring, and ensuring safe medicine supply. Essential criteria

  • Accuracy Checking Technician Qualification
  • Achieved Accredited MM/Medicines Optimisation qualification or willingness to complete if not already achieved
  • Level 4 Clinical Diploma or willingness to complete if not already achieved
  • Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
  • Communicate effectively to all levels of staff
  • IT Literate in routine Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc)

Job summary

Are you an experienced Pharmacy Technician who is ready to lead, innovate and make a real difference to patient care? Wye Valley NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Lead Pharmacy Technician for Theatres and Women's Health to deliver a high-quality clinical pharmacy service across Theatres, Critical Care, Women's and Children's services. In this varied role, you will work closely with patients and the multidisciplinary team, support medicines reconciliation and therapeutic monitoring, ensure the safe and timely supply of medicines, counsel patients and contribute to effective transfers of care. You will also lead and mentor colleagues, line manage junior staff, develop safe working practices, monitor service performance and champion continuous improvement. You will need General Pharmaceutical Council registration, an NVQ Level 3 or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science, an Accuracy Checking Technician qualification and significant relevant experience, together with the confidence, initiative and leadership skills to help shape and develop the service. Weekend and Bank Holiday working forms part of the role's formal rota.
