Role summary

The Operational Estates department at Ysbyty Gwynedd is seeking a highly motivated Multi Skilled Building Craftsperson-Joiner. This role involves assisting with the maintenance of the Health Board's property across the West, primarily based at Ysbyty Gwynedd but may include community sites. The successful candidate will participate in an on-call rota to cover Bank Holiday periods. You should have qualifications and experience in joinery and woodworking duties, able to work on your own initiative.

Essential criteria

  • Indentured Building Craft Apprenticeship. ? Advanced Building Craft Certificate or equivalent. ? NVQ level 3. ? HNC/HND or equivalent level of knowledge and/or experience

Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of Continued Personal Development. ? JIB Registration. ? Wood Machining Safety certificate. ? Advanced Module Certificate in fire door repair and maintenance.
  • Significant experience of working within a multi skilled building service industry with more than one area of craft discipline. ? Completion of a structured training programme in building services. ? Experience of working with woodworking machinery (Bench saws, planers etc)
  • Previous experience of working within the NHS. ? Multi-disciplinary experience across a range of building trades.
  • Excellent communication skills. Willing to develop individual knowledge ? Ability to work unsupervised
  • Motivation and persuasive skills ? Welsh Speaking ? IT/Keyboard skills
  • Higher level of knowledge and understanding of building maintenance construction/services/syst ems and a working knowledge of multi skilled associated trades. Familiarity with approved guidance documents.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety. HTMs, Building Regulations and ACoPs. ? Manual Handling Training ? Working at Height training
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, conscientious and resourceful. ? Participate in on-call duties ? Available to undertake overtime
  • Experience in team leading.
  • OTHER RELEVANT REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work to deadlines and emergency responses. ? Ability to work as part of a team. ? Hold a current driving licence - works van provided.
