Role summary

This is an entry-level Occupational Therapist position within a dynamic team, offering a comprehensive and varied rotation through areas like Acute Stroke Rehabilitation, Community Rehabilitation, Paediatric OT, and Mental Health. The role focuses on assisting with safe discharge, reducing length of stay, preventing admission, and promoting independent living and wellbeing for service users. You will help increase function and promote independence through therapeutic interventions in various settings, with a strong emphasis on learning and development through structured education and clinical supervision.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage own caseload assessing, planning, implementing, and reviewing interventions.
  • Prioritise caseload according to need and identified risks.
  • Plan and implement individual and/or group interventions, in collaboration with the patient, using graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals.
  • Undertake Occupational Therapy assessments for a designated caseload, addressing occupational performance and skill deficits.
  • Teach patients with disabilities new techniques to carry out activities of daily living, including manual handling and equipment use.
  • Prescribe appropriate minor adaptations and standard equipment to patients.

Essential criteria

  • Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current state registration with HCPC -- or applied for
  • A valid UK driving licence, access to a car with business insurance
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge and applications of current best practice in Occupational Therapy.
  • Demonstrated applied knowledge of effective planning and coordination of treatment packages.

Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist.

At entry level to the OT profession this is a learning post forming part of a comprehensive and varied rotation through areas such as:
