Role summary

Key responsibilities
- Coordinate inpatient waiting lists and theatre lists using multiple system applications.
- Act as the main point of contact for patients and staff, managing emails and phone calls.
- Create accurate waiting list entries on the Trust PAS system, including surgical details and comments.
- Compile and maintain accurate theatre lists, ensuring patients are offered admission dates in line with policy.
- Develop good working relationships with clinical teams, consultants, and other hospital departments.
- Mentor new staff, provide cross-cover, and assist in staff training.
Essential criteria
- Educated to GSCE Level including English and Maths or equivalent
- Experience of working as part of a team and on own initiative
- Competence in use of various computer software packages
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate professionally at all times - on the phone, in writing and face-to-face with colleagues and the public
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of Waiting List Management
- Understanding of the need of confidentiality awareness at all times
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritise
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Problem solving skills
- A high level of concentration and attention to details
- Meticulous accuracy in order to maintain service levels
- Good IT skills including Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to use other multiple systems at the same time

Desirable criteria
