Role summary
This role is for a motivated and flexible Catering Services Team Manager to support the Catering Management Team at Ysbyty Gwynedd. The post holder will help deliver efficient operational services, lead a team of chefs/cooks, and ensure high-quality catering for patients and staff. It's an operational post requiring shift work within the Food Production Team. Excellent knowledge of Food Safety and Health and Safety is essential.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Catering Management Team in the delivery of efficient and effective operational services.
- Contribute to leading a hard working team of chefs/cooks.
- Ensure the best Catering service is provided to patient and staff.
- Work on shift as part of the Food Production Team.
- Provide support in the development of service improvements.
- Assist with, or undertake specific tasks/projects as required.
Essential criteria
- Level 3 or equivalent in professional cookery
- Experience of working in a Catering Department
- Flexible approach to work
- Level 3 or equivalent in Food Production and good knowledge and skills
Desirable criteria
- Level 4 Managing Food Safely
- Experience of running a busy kitchen
- Supervision or Management Experience

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, passionate, compassionate, flexible Catering Services Team Manager to support the Catering Management Team in the delivery of efficient and effective operational services across the Catering Service at Ysbyty Gwynedd. We are looking for an individual that can contribute into leading a hard working team of chefs/cooks ensuring that the best Catering service is provided to patient and staff. This vacancy will be an Operational Post, and the requirement to work on shift as part of the Food Production Team will be key. The post holder must have excellent knowledge of Food Safety, Health and Safety be an excellent team member and have a passion for cooking.
This post holder is a key member of the Facilities team and will be required to provide support in the development of service improvements and assist with, or undertake specific tasks/projects as required.
Main duties of the job
The job will involve working with the Catering Management Team to ensure the best possible Catering Service for Patients, Staff and Visitors.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
