Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disabilities Nurse to join Rowan Lea, a 20-bedded assessment and treatment ward for older people at Cross Lane Hospital. The role involves working with patients experiencing organic and functional illnesses, developing individual well-being treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based nursing interventions. You will work within a supportive multi-disciplinary team, focusing on patient-centred care and continuous professional development. This position is suitable for experienced nurses or newly qualified nurses who have completed their preceptorship.

Essential criteria

  • Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD
  • To be a recognised Practice Supervisor

We are pleased to announce that an exciting opportunity for a band 5 staff nurse has become available on Rowan Lea, Cross lane hospital.

This post would suit an experienced nurse wishing to return to or gain experience in MHSOP nursing or a newly qualified nurse wishing to take their first steps into mental health nursing with older persons. It is an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge whilst working alongside and shadowing an experienced nursing team.

Rowan Lea is a 20 bedded mixed gender assessment and treatment ward for older people, with both organic and functional illnesses. We work collaboratively with patients and carers to develop individual well-being treatment plans. The team encourages innovative practice and supports development at all times; and promotes a positive image of people with mental ill health.

We have a broad multi-disciplinary inpatient team that includes nurses, medical staff, a physical health care practitioner, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. There is local access to nutrition and dietetic staff within MHSO
