Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Dietitian to lead the dietetic telemedicine service at Airedale General Hospital. The role involves providing expert dietetic advice and nutrition support to patients with various medical conditions, particularly within the Airedale Telemedicine for Health & Justice service which delivers dietetic advice to prisons across the country. The post-holder will triage referrals, lead on service development, and manage a caseload of adult patients. Remote working is a possibility for this role.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the dietetic telemedicine service.
- Triage referrals for the telemedicine service.
- Lead on development opportunities for the service.
- Engage and network with prison healthcare teams and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Manage a caseload of adult patients with a variety of medical conditions, including nutrition support and gastroenterology.
- Provide expert dietetic advice and nutrition support for patients.
Essential criteria
- Relevant and recent experience working in a variety of clinical areas and settings
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working and working collaboratively with other professions and agencies
- Experience of clinical supervision both as supervisee and supervisor

- Experienced in use of IT applications
- Degree or Post-graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Evidence of continuing personal and professional development
- Excellent leadership skills
- Excellent communication and counselling skills including observation, listening and empathy
- Highly developed negotiation and problem-solving skills in complex situations
- Excellent analytical and reflective skills
- Excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal, and ability to adjust style and content as appropriate
- Current UK driving license
- Knowledge and clinical reasoning skills to support advanced clinical practice in dietetics
- Knowledge of how nutritional intake and status are affected by the above conditions, and of appropriate nutrition and dietetic treatment for adults with these conditions
- Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance
Desirable criteria
- Experience of taking part in or leading on projects/ service improvements
- Experience of developing and implementing guidelines in own clinical area
- Experience of taking part in audit or research projects
- Experience in gastroenterology
- Recent post graduate experience with relevance to the job
- Post graduate courses relevant to nutrition and dietetics
- Member of British Dietetic Association (BDA)
- Member of BDA special interest group
- Access to own transport
- Knowledge of relevant national and local legislation relevant to dietetic practice

This is a very exciting opportunity for a qualified Dietitian to join our friendly and experienced dieteticteam at Airedale General Hospital.The post-holder will work alongside our friendly dietetic team consisting ofDietitians, a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner,Dietetic Assistants and admin support staff.
This role will leadour dietetic provision to our Airedale Telemedicine for Health & Justice service. Airedale has led the way in providing telemedicine services and dietetics is one of the main contributors delivering expert dietetic advice to prisons across the country. This role will lead on how we develop this service going forward working alongside the healthcare teams within the prisons establishing and maintaining strong working relationships, and colleagues within Airedale including specialist consultants and the Airedale Telemedicine Team. The postprovides expert dietetic advice and nutrition support for patients with a range of medical conditions. It is possible to consider remote working for this role.
