Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to lead the SACT Outreach and Bloods Closer to Home team. The role involves providing operational, managerial, and clinical leadership across various sites in Greater Manchester and Cheshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for service delivery, quality, and development, ensuring excellent patient experience and effective workforce management. This position requires a dynamic oncology nurse with proven leadership skills and a passion for service improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the operational delivery of SACT Outreach and Bloods Closer to Home services, ensuring high-quality patient care.
- Plan, review, and implement service developments to improve patient experience and clinical effectiveness.
- Organise and manage workforce deployment, staffing requirements, and rotas.
- Provide line management, professional leadership, and support to nursing and healthcare support staff.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, maintaining high standards of clinical practice and patient safety.
- Assist in the management of staffing and non-staff budgets, ensuring effective resource utilisation.
Essential criteria
- RGN Level 1
- Degree or Diploma in Nursing Studies
- Post Registration Certificate in Cancer or equivalent
- Qualification in teaching & assessing or equivalent
- Oncology or acute care experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent assessment skills
- Ability to deliver a high quality of care
- Computer literacy
- Leadership skills
- Committed to own personal professional development and that of all ward staff
- Participate in on call cover for Senior Nurses
- Team player
- Ability and willingness to travel to SACT Outreach and BCTH sites
