Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Pharmacist to work in both Clinical services and Technical aseptic services within a state-of-the-art Pharmacy Technical Services Unit. The unit holds an MHRA Manufacturing Specials license and provides comprehensive production services. The role involves working closely with senior pharmacists and technicians on management and strategic development, taking responsibility for pharmacist roles, training, and IT systems. The ideal candidate will be a team player with leadership qualities, a keen interest in training, and a drive for service evolution.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with the Lead Pharmacist of technical services, Chief Technician and the Associate Head of Technical Services for the management and strategic development of the service.
- Take responsibility for Pharmacist based roles.
- Oversee training and IT systems within the service.
- Manage professional aspects of the service, including supervision of rotational pharmacists and pre-registration Pharmacists.
- Actively participate in service evolution.
Essential criteria
- Master's Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent)
- One year pre-registration training
- Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent qualification / experience)
- A minimum of 6 months post qualification Pharmacy experience, with a minimum of 3 month Hospital Pharmacy Technical services experience
- Knowledge of Good manufacturing practice (GMP) and ability to apply this knowledge in practice
Desirable criteria
- Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
