Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Cancer Services team at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. The role involves providing expert clinical support, assessment, information, and holistic care to patients throughout their lung cancer pathway. You will act as a trusted point of contact for patients and their families, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centred care. The successful candidate will facilitate the clinical flow of lung cancer screening and symptomatic suspected cancer pathways, supporting the delivery of the national optimal lung cancer pathway within Cornwall.
Essential criteria
- RGN- Diploma
- Appropriate Post Reg. specialist qualification / recent relevant clinical experience
Desirable criteria
- Qualification in Cancer/Oncology/ Communication/ Counselling/Skills Training
- Post reg teaching Qualification
- Leadership/management training
- Evidence of specialist cancer/respiratory knowledge.
- Experience coordinating complex pathways.
- Evidence of quality improvement and teaching activity.
- Demonstrable experience across community and acute settings
