Role summary
Join the Information Governance (IG) Team to protect information, support colleagues, and maintain high governance standards. You will provide specialist guidance on information management, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This role involves building relationships, improving processes, and strengthening a culture of transparency and accountability. You will contribute to excellent patient care and organisational performance within a supportive team.
Essential criteria
- Degree level education or previous relevant experience in an Information Governance related field
- ISEB qualification in FOI and /or DPA or equivalent.
- Evidence of recent and ongoing CPD / learning in DPA / FOI / Information Governance
Desirable criteria
- GDPR Practitioner Certificate
- Specialist expertise in Freedom of Information Act 2000 legislation
- Expertise in Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR legislation
- Understanding of complex public sector organisation and effective partnership working
- An understanding of NHS legislation, governance frameworks and standards
- Understanding and knowledge of records management
- Understanding and knowledge of confidentiality guidance (Caldicott)
- Experience of working within the NHS
- Experience of handling and responding to FOI and Data Protection queries
- Experience of successfully engaging and working with a range of staff and members of the public.
- Previous experience of working in a public facing team within the healthcare sector
- Experience of planning and delivering training sessions to multidisciplinary groups
- Familiarity with incident reporting and investigation methods
- Project Management qualification
- Experience of use of clinical systems for records extraction and auditing.
