Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join a multidisciplinary team, supporting the provision of high-standard patient care in various clinics such as Oral surgery, Skin procedures, IV sedation, minor operations, Orthodontics, and specialised clinics like Orthognathic. The role involves organising and assisting with specialist clinics, preparing medical notes, and obtaining orthodontic appliances. You will be responsible for personal development and supporting less experienced staff, ensuring effective communication and professional conduct.
Key responsibilities
- Organise, prepare and assist with specialist clinics (e.g., wound review, Skin cancer lists, casualty).
- Prepare medical and orthodontic notes for clinics, including obtaining investigation results from computerised systems.
- Obtain Orthodontic appliances from the laboratory.
- Take responsibility for personal development and support the development and supervision of others.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner and be a role model to less experienced and new staff.
- Work proactively to ensure patient attendance meets expectations with timely procedures and effective communication.
Essential criteria
- Qualification to degree level in an adult nursing field.
- Professional NMC registration (part 1)
- Willingness to work towards disease specific modules
- Mentorship qualification
- Ability to provide holistic care to patients in a variety of settings through the nursing process: Assess, Plan, implement, review
- Nursing competencies which may include, but are not exclusive to, TV, PEOL, continence Care, holistic care, medication administration
- Community/acute pathways of care
- Standards of proficiencies for registered nurse
- Computer literacy
- Ability to travel across the Trust and adapt to a flexible working pattern to work to meet the needs of the service
- Positive role model
- Flexible approach to meet service need
