Role summary
This role is for a highly motivated and professional Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join Moorgate ward at the Harbour as a Band 6 Deputy Manager. You will join an established leadership team, developing your leadership skills in a supportive environment. The role requires excellent role modelling, supporting junior colleagues, and contributing to quality improvement projects. You should have experience nursing people with acute mental health needs and providing high-quality supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Work across a shift pattern, providing 24/7 care and treatment to male and female service users with acute mental health needs.
- Provide meaningful clinical and managerial supervision to staff within the team.
- Support and develop learners in practice.
- Complete audits and disseminate associated information.
- Support and lead on quality improvements and engage with patients to support recovery, including leading on dialog+ assessments.
- Ensure clinical environments meet high infection control and cleaning standards and represent the ward at meetings.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse - Mental Health with post graduate experience including
- Successfully completed preceptorship programme post qualifying
- Evidence of post registration academic or vocational professional development (e.g. knowledge and expertise acquired through either in depth experience or theoretical
- Knowledge of common mental health problems and medication used in relation to these
- Experience of involvement in innovative nursing practise and multicultural nursing environments
- Demonstrate understanding of how research has influenced practice
- 2 year post-graduation experience consisting of completion of preceptorship in mental health nursing (12 months) and 12 months post preceptorship experience with the ability to demonstrate competency in the below:
- Experience of managerial responsibilities i.e , competent in understanding and being able to demonstrate effective team and clinical leadership
- Enhanced knowledge and experience of risk assessment and management, and safeguarding where appropriate
- Experience of interacting therapeutically living with significant mental health issues'

Job summary
An exciting opportunities have arisen on Moorgate ward at the Harbour for highly motivated and professional RMN to join the wards as band 6 deputy manager. In coming into this roles, the successful candidates will join an already established leadership team, and will have opportunity to further develop their leadership skills in a supportive environment.
The successful candidate will bring excellent role modelling skills, a passion for supporting and developing junior colleagues, including student nurses and preceptors, and they should have a keen interest in quality improvement projects that can lead to improvements in patient care and staff wellbeing.
