Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and adaptable Healthcare Assistant to join a community nursing team in Thanet. You will provide direct patient care in their homes, working as part of a team to implement care plans and monitor the quality of care. The role involves supporting elderly patients, those recently discharged, terminally ill, or with physical disabilities, ensuring they remain safe and well at home. Key responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to provide care to local patients and families.
- Monitor the quality of care patients are receiving.
- Provide feedback to managers on the quality of care.
- Carry out care plans designed to support people living at home.
- Ensure that people who use our services have a good experience.
Essential criteria
- Relevant level 3 qualification (NVQ/ QCF Diploma or certificate of care / Advanced apprenticeship) or equivalent or working towards.
- Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths).
- Experience as a Healthcare Assistant/ Worker in a health or social care setting.
- Experience of working as part of a team.
- Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (EPay / E-roster/ AT-P/ Rio).
- Knowledge of up to date clinical practice.
- Understands the role and remit of Unregistered worker.
- Sound communication skills in order to understand and communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to be able to use IT systems and databases.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of Community Nursing environment
- Awareness of developments in the NHS.
