Role summary

This role is for a registered nurse to join the District Nurses in Powys, providing autonomous nursing care to patients in their own homes within a rural setting. Essential criteria

  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Post registration District Nursing qualification (BSc in relevant subject)
  • Expeience of proactive caseload management of wide range of patients including those with chronic conditions
  • For Band 6 Annex 21: to already be undertaking the 2 year qualification for DN SPQ

Desirable criteria

  • Independent prescribing qualification
  • MSc Advanced clinical Practice
  • Management/leadership qualification or equivalent preparation
  • Experience at management level demonstrating ability to deliver improvements to service users care
  • Significant clinical experience in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating cae for the patient group of the caseloadExperience in a wide range of clinical skills
  • Competence and confidence in a wide range of clinical skills including palliative care, chronic disease management and wound management
  • Aptitude and Abilities
  • A high level of interpersonal and communication skills
  • Standard keyboard skills and IT literacy
  • Ability to engage with members of the public

This post is advertised as a Band 6, however applicants who do not currently hold all the necessary competencies to a Band 6 level are encouraged to apply and, if successful, will be appointed under Annex 21 rules whereby 75% of the top of Band 6 will be payable during the first 12 months or until band 6 competencies have been completed.

Main duties of the job

This is an ideal opportunity for a registered nurse who is seeking to broaden and utilise their range of skills and knowledge to nurse people in their own environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will participate in the delivery of skilled, autonomous nursing care to patients within their own home.
