Role summary
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join Queen Victoria Hospital. The role involves three 8-month rotations in Hand Therapy, Burns/Plastics/Head and Neck wards, and a community rehabilitation team. You will assess, diagnose, and formulate treatment plans for both inpatients and outpatients across various conditions. The teams are friendly and dynamic, offering excellent supervision and opportunities for training and service development.
Essential criteria
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy or able to demonstrate specialist knowledge within this field through practical experience
- HCPC Registration
Desirable criteria
- Short specialist courses
- Working knowledge of broad range of conditions relating to functional impairment
- Experience of working as part of a therapy and/or multidisciplinary team
- Involvement in audit, research and understanding of quality issues
- Able to present information written and orally in a clear and logical manner
- Knowledge of the application and analysis of standardised and non-standardised assessment tools.
- Ability to carry out patient assessments and intervention, including manual handling techniques as required

Job summary
An excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to gain employment at Queen Victoria Hospital .
This post incorporates three ongoing rotations of 8 months, one in Hand Therapy, second on the Burns/Plastics/ Head and Neck wards and the third in community rehabilitation team. All teams are friendly and dynamic and look forward to welcoming a new member. We operate a Monday to Friday service and have no plans currently to undertake 7 day working. You will receive excellent supervision in both teams from experienced and long-standing senior staff. Opportunities are given for external training as well as a comprehensive in-house package. Previous experience in these specialist area's is beneficial but not essential.
