Role summary
This role involves providing highly specialist systemic assessments and treatment in family therapy for children, adolescents, and their families within community mental health services. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will practice within relevant Codes of Practice and draw on a range of models and techniques. The position requires formulating treatment options based on evidence and working sensitively with diverse family backgrounds. You will act as an autonomous clinician, ensuring consultation, assessment, and treatment are provided in partnership with service users.
Essential criteria
- MSc or AFT Qualifying level course in Family & Systemic Psychotherapy
- UKCP Registered as a Systemic Family Psychotherapist
- Demonstrable experience working with children, young people, families and groups.
- Demonstrable experience in a Band 6 role within a multi-disciplinary setting
- Substantial experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to prioritise case referrals, assessment and discharge effectively on an individual basis or within multidisciplinary team.
- Specialist expertise in particular areas e.g., eating disorders, child protection issues, attachment difficulties
- Experience in working with multiple types of family structure
- Demonstrable experience of working in a mental health setting
- Substantial experience in offering supervision and consultation
- Driving license
Desirable criteria
- A full UK driving license is desirable but not essential
