Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Assistant to join the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust Estates team, based at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.
For this post, we are looking for a driven and enthusiastic individual who is experienced in general building repairs and general building maintenance, or has experience in a similar role.
Our Trust offers a generous annual leave entitlement of 27 days per year rising to 29 days after 5 years service and then 33 after ten years service. We offer a generous pension scheme and various other staff benefits such as the cycle to work scheme.
This is an excellent opportunity for a can do individual with energy, drive and enthusiasm and we are very much looking forward to appointing a new Maintenance Assistant to join our team and contribute to delivering the best service possible for patients and staff.
Main duties of the job
- Carrying out general building fabric repairs/maintenance, simple joinery, flooring repairs, painting etc.
- Assisting Craft staff with more complex repairs.
- Carrying out basic plumbing or drainage repairs/minor installations.
- Carrying out simple electrical repairs such as replacing lamps, cleaning light diffusers.
- Carrying out Portable appliance
