This role is for a compassionate and confident Registered Mental Health Nurse to lead the depot clinic and support physical health monitoring within the Slough Community Mental Health Service.   • Specialist knowledge acquired through post graduate short courses, training and equivalent experience, in a relevant field.

  • Previous Experience
  • Demonstrable experience of working autonomously to deliver high quality and evidence-based nursing care.
  • Experience in providing supervision to junior colleagues and students in the completion of routine nursing and clinical skills.
  • Uphold the Trust's values of being caring, committed and working as team through demonstrable examples and experience.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Demonstrable understanding of an acute mental health environment and relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and DOLs.
  • Proficient use of digital tools and applications including Word, Outlook and patient management systems.
  • Additional Requirements
  • Ability to travel between multiple Trust sites and non-Trust locations, including patient homes, some of which may not be easily accessible via public transport.

Job summary

Are you a compassionate and confident Registered Mental Health Nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality mental health care? Slough Community Mental Health Service is looking for a Band 6 RMN to lead our depot clinic and support physical health monitoring for people with severe mental illness on the team caseload.

This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys specialist practice, autonomy and close multidisciplinary team collaboration. You will lead depot and long-acting injectable clinics, provide expert physical health monitoring, support medicines optimisation and play a key role in improving patient experience, safety and wellbeing. You will be the steady, skilled presence that ensures our depot clinic runs smoothly and safely, while supporting the wider team to maintain high clinical standards

Main duties of the job

  • Lead and coordinate the depot/long-acting injectable service within Slough Community Mental Health Service, ensuring safe clinic flow, documentation and escalation.
  • Administer depot/long-acting injectable medication safely in line with Trust policy and national guidance.
  • Deliver high-quality physical health monitoring and maintain oversight of physical health pathways for people with severe mental illness.
