Role summary
This role is for a Band 4 Dental Nurse to support the Dental Nurse team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide high-quality primary clinical dental care for child and adult patients with special needs. Duties include assisting clinicians with various treatments, preparing the dental surgery, and assisting with dental radiography. The position offers flexible shifts and opportunities for career progression.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the provision of high-quality primary clinical dental care for child and adult patients with special needs.
- Work with all patients receiving care in the service and perform duties expected of dental nurses within clinical governance.
- Provide comprehensive support to clinicians throughout a wide range of different types of clinical treatments.
- Set up and prepare the dental surgery or theatre for use at the beginning of the session.
- Assist with dental radiography under the supervision of an operator and process dental x-rays.
Essential criteria
- At least 1 years experience working within the NHS, general practice or private clinics.
- Registration with the General Dental Council.
- National Certificate for Dental Nurses or NVQ Level 3 in Oral Healthcare.
Desirable criteria
- Other experiences relevant to CDS such as working with the elderly, children and patients with special needs.
