Role summary

The Early Intervention Team (EIT) for Trafford is seeking a Support, Time and Recovery Worker. This role involves supporting individuals aged 14-35 who have experienced a First Episode of Psychosis, and their families, across the Trafford Borough. The worker will provide support and dedicated time to service users to promote recovery, social inclusion, and help them develop skills for functioning in their community.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide support and give time to an allocated group of service users.
  • Help promote recovery and social inclusion for individuals open to the EIT service.
  • Support service users in developing skills to function in their community environment.

Essential criteria

  • NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent level of experience within a mental health care setting relevant to the advertised role
  • Experience of supporting individuals receiving mental health care within a relevant setting to the advertised role.
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience of working autonomously within a healthcare setting and managing own tasks accordingly
  • Awareness of low-level psychological interventions and how these can be used as part of an MDT approach to support an individual (e.g. Graded Exposure)
  • Understanding and experience of implementing confidentiality in accordance with trust policies and procedures.
  • Ability to assess and feedback risk.
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member.

Desirable criteria

  • Care Certificate
  • Experience of working with people with psychosis and their families
  • Lived experience of psychosis or caring for a loved one who has experienced psychosis.
  • Basic understanding of physical health matters
