Role summary
This role involves providing specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention to offenders within a prison setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The postholder will promote engagement in meaningful activities, facilitate skill development, and manage a complex clinical caseload. Key responsibilities

- Lead on the development of evidence-based OT practice

- Supervise the work of junior staff including OT students on clinical placement
- Contribute to and carry out risk assessment and management plans
Essential criteria
- 2 years experience working in Forensics
- Extensive post registration experience as a Clinical Occupational Therapist
- Extensive clinical experience including individual and group work reflecting social inclusion
- Diploma/ BSc or Masters in Occupational Therapy
- UK HCPC registration
- Use and understanding of the MOHO
- Specialist knowledge and application of OT assessments and interventions relevant to clinical area
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience working in Prisons
- Sensory Integration qualification
- Post graduate diploma in Forensics
- Presentation and training skill

Job summary
As part of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) you will provide specialist assessment and intervention to offenders in prison. You will promote active engagement in meaningful occupations and facilitate the skills development and independence of patients. The postholder will work in collaboration with other healthcare professionals in prison in contributing to the development and delivery of safe, effective care, while also holding care co-ordination responsibility for a clinical caseload.
