Role summary
This is a part-time Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse role on Dart ward, offering an opportunity to gain management experience and develop clinical skills. Key responsibilities
- Work as part of a team on the ward and with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Co-ordinate the ward to maintain patient flow and journey.
- Assess care needs of patients and families, supporting the team to develop, implement, and evaluate high-standard care.
- Act as clinical advisor on nursing issues to ensure high-standard, evidence-based care.
- Participate in direct care and facilitate sound discharge planning.
Essential criteria
- NMC registration
- Evidence of continual professional development
- Practice Assessor
- Recent registered nursing experience
- Senior band 5 coordinating in an acute ward setting
- Safe and competent practitioner aware of own limitations and needs
- Able to work flexibly across a 24 hour rota
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Shift work
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and team-working
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Articulate, both verbally and written
- Assertive, confident but approachable
Desirable criteria
- Qualifications relevant to Rehabilitation
- Evidence of post graduate study
- Leadership qualification
- Experience within Elderly Care
- Advanced clinical skills: Venepuncture, cannulation, NG tube insertion

Main duties of the job
Work as part of a team both on the ward as a band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse, but also with other multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure a seamless delivery of service
