Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and adaptable qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) to join a caring and progressive Health Visiting service. The post involves contributing to antenatal and postnatal care, completing mandated reviews and safeguarding, and supporting colleagues. It is a community-based role with full and part-time opportunities available. The successful candidate will work to improve the health of communities within Kent and Medway.
Essential criteria
- Registered health care professional (NMC registration) (1) Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 6 (2) Evidence of Specialist qualifications relevant to area of practice - Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (2)
Desirable criteria
- PRINCE 2 or equiv. project management training (3) PTLLS/DTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education (1) Management or supervisory qualification or experience of study (1)
- Practical experience in managing health related projects/complex caseloads (3) Supporting others (mentor / educator / supervisor) experience (2)
- Experience of leading and managing teams (3) Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (E-Pay / E-roster/ AT-P/ RIO) (2)
- Understanding of National Service Frameworks and NICE guidance to relevant to care setting and its application across health care services (2) Evidence of continued relevant professional development and implementation in practice within the last 12 months (3)

- Understanding of training needs in relation to post (1) Ability to manage time effectively, priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines (1) Ability to work effectively with a variety of people at all organisational levels across different sectors including areas of social deprivation (1) Strong influencing and negotiating skills (1) Ability to communicate complex, sensitive information to individuals and groups (1)

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) to join our caring and progressive Health Visiting service.

Main duties of the job
- Contributing to antenatal and postnatal care programme
- Completing HCP mandated reviews, packages of care and safeguarding.
- Supporting in the supervision/ line management and development of colleagues
- Undertaking a range of competent clinical and non-clinical interventions to support the outcomes for families and the service
- Attend and contribute to team meetings
- Building relationships with colleagues to enhance the team working environment
