Role summary

Key responsibilities

  • Provide support to ensure efficient and effective use of the national e-Referrals System (eRS).
  • Act as a point of contact for administrative and clinical staff for eRS assistance, advice, and support.
  • Ensure prompt action to resolve concerns pertaining to eRS.
  • Deliver the eRS training programme across Divisions.

Essential criteria

  • NVQ in Administration level 3 or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience
  • Five years' established administrative and clerical experience
  • Experience of working within the NHS
  • Experience of working in a busy high pressured environment and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience and knowledge of patient pathways
  • Knowledge and awareness of the NHS Agenda including Cancer Waiting Times
  • Detailed knowledge of eRS and PAS
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff of different discipline including matters of a complex ad sensitive nature
  • Excellent working knowledge and use of hospital IT systems eg. eRS, PAS, Maxims
  • Ability to work on own initiative

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of staff management or staff supervision
  • Previous training experience with hospital waiting list management systems including PAS

Job summary

Outpatient Booking Services have an exciting opportunity to appoint a dedicated and methodical individual into the role of e-Referrals Compliance Officer, who will provide support in ensuring the Trust's efficient and effective use of the national e-Referrals System (eRS).

All GP referrals and advice & guidance requests into the organisation are managed through the eRS platform and the efficiency of the system is critical to the successful management of elective patient activity.

The post-holder will need to be able to work in a calm, logical and methodical way, with the ability to multi-task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions.

You must be confident, diplomatic and able to work in a busy environment. You must possess excellent communication skills and a pleasant disposition, with the ability to be responsive to individual and Trust demands.

This post is working full time 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm from Pydar House in Truro.
