Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the innovative Experts at Hand SEND Reforms model within Trafford mainstream schools and colleges. You will work in a dynamic multidisciplinary team to support children and young people with special educational needs to communicate, participate, achieve and thrive. The role involves delivering training, coaching, and support packages, and providing guidance to colleagues. Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery and ongoing development of the Experts at Hand model.
- Provide individual, group, and whole-setting approaches in partnership with education professionals, therapists, psychologists, family support services, social care, and other partners.
- Support the development of innovative, accessible pathways.
- Reduce barriers to specialist advice and strengthen inclusive practice across local services.
Essential criteria
- Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Specialist training in advanced theory and application of specialist skills
- Degree or equivalent qualification in SLT
- Thorough knowledge of Government initiatives in Health and education
- Specialist knowledge of assessments and intervention
- Evidence of experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist with children with complex needs.
- Evidence of experience working with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience of devising and delivering training
