  • Working towards or prepared to work towards obtaining an Apprenticeship in Clinical Healthcare.
  • Awareness and understanding of importance of confidentiality

Job summary

We are looking for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join the friendly Day Case team.

The role would include working alongside a multidisciplinary team, providing high quality, patient centred care to a wide range of patients. The successful candidate would need to be motivated, organised and possess outstanding communication skills. Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, work well under pressure and have a flexible approach to work.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Healthcare Assistant role is key to ensuring that our nursing teams are supported to deliver consistently, high quality, patient centred care.

The day case unit is open Monday to Friday, 7AM till 9PM. The unit cares for patients from all specialities including general surgery, urology, gynaecology, orthopaedics, ENT and Max fax.

You will be expected to support staff to ensure patients are prepared for theatre. You will help care for patients post operatively, carrying out post operative observations and meeting patients needs.
