Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Assistant to join the Renal Post Transplant Team at Salford Royal. The role involves providing high standards of care to complex renal patients, supporting them during outpatient visits, and educating them and their families. You will work within a team, contributing to leadership development and enhancing patient quality of life. The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and some renal experience.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a high standard of care to a complex patient group.
- Support patients during their outpatient visits.
- Educate and support patients and significant others regarding their patient journey.
- Enhance and maintain quality of life for renal transplant patients.
Essential criteria
- Experience of working as a Care Support Worker or equivalent in a Health or Social care setting
- Experience of working within a team
- NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or a Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship - or equivalent experience
- Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G)
- Care Certificate
- Good communication (written and verbal skills)
- Basic IT skills
- Good organisational skills
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrates an interest or previous experience in supporting other health care staff and learners
- Commitment to undertaking continuous professional development (CPD)
