Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist specialising in Dysphagia to join the Children's Speech and Language Therapy team at Queensway Health Centre. The role involves providing highly specialist, child-centred, and evidence-based interventions for complex communication needs and dysphagia. You will work autonomously, provide professional guidance to less experienced staff, and contribute to service development and improvement. Maintaining continuous professional development and managing clinical risks are also key aspects of this role.
Key responsibilities
- Provide highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy input within your area of expertise, delivering child-centred and evidence-based interventions.
- Support and provide professional guidance to less experienced SLT staff.
- Contribute to the development and review of service policies and procedures, and play an active role in service improvement.
- Maintain your own continuous professional development within your specialist area, including networking with other professionals.
- Support compliance with safeguarding requirements, including following relevant child protection procedures and contributing to assessments.
- Manage clinical and non-clinical risks within the service, identifying concerns promptly and taking appropriate action.
Essential criteria
- HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
- Relevant clinical degree, Postgraduate Diploma or MSc leading to HCPC registration.
- Masters-level equivalent knowledge of complex communication needs and paediatric dysphagia.
- Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists with active CPD.
- Full UK driving licence and own car essential.
Desirable criteria
- SystmOne knowledge desirable.
