Role summary
This role is for an experienced Skilled Electrician to join the Estates Team, providing electrical maintenance and support across multiple sites in Hampshire. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of electrical safety and reliability, working on complex electrical systems and plant equipment. The position involves planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair works, including acting as an Authorised Person for LV Electrical systems. The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring safe and compliant facilities for staff and service users within a healthcare environment.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out and/or oversee the repair/maintenance/installation of complex plant and equipment.
- Apply a multi-skilled approach alongside primary electrician duties.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair works across varying systems.
- Act as an Authorised Person (AP) in LV Electrical, including issuing permits to work.
- Carry out electrical shutdowns in a compliant and recorded manner to assist with maintenance or capital project works.
Essential criteria
- An electrical background with an NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma or equivalent qualification in an appropriate electrically biased engineering discipline
- BS7671 (Current Edition) of IET Wiring Regulations
- Able to fault-find diagnose and rectify electrical faults.
- Knowledge of planned maintenance systems.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Time served apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Driving License.
- Demonstrate the ability to understand and follow detailed technical instructions.
- Organisation of own workload
- Maintain a healthy safe, and secure working environment
Desirable criteria
- Testing and inspection qualification
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Development into supporting the on call trade staff requirements, including some evening/weekend work
