Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a District Nurse to join the St Neots/A1 Community Nursing Team. The role involves working autonomously within an integrated multi-professional team, managing your own caseload, and providing high standards of nursing intervention in patients' homes. You will support and educate peers and junior staff, ensuring excellent nursing care to reduce acute hospital admissions. A District Nurse Specialist Qualification or leadership experience in community nursing is required, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Essential criteria
- RGN level 1 educated to degree level.
- Post-registration qualification relevant to district nursing
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Mentorship qualification or equivalent.
Desirable criteria
- Management of leg ulcer qualification
- Prescriber or willing to undertake
- Wound care qualification
- Multidisciplinary working experience
- Management experience
- Relevant and proven experience post registration in a variety of settings
- Nursing in both acute and community settings
- Demonstrate application of clinical governance and experience of clinical supervision
- Experience in delivering training
- Skills & Abilities
- The ability to respond to changing situations
- Ability to develop effective working relationships
- Ability to exercise initiative
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload to meet the needs of the service
- Ability to innovate
- Extensive understanding of clinical supervision
- Knowledge & Understanding
- Demonstrate an understanding of national government initiatives in health and social care and how these impact on local services

- Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel independently around Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area meeting required timescales. A Full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
- Manoeuvre patients using safe techniques in accordance with care plan.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a District Nurse to work within our St Neots/A1 Community Nursing Team.
You will be working as part of a team which includes Community Nurses (RN), Advanced Clinical Nurse Practitioner and Integrated Care Workers. You will link closely with colleagues outside of CPFT including GPs and other members of the multidisciplinary team to support excellent nursing care at home, reducing the necessity for acute hospital admission.
The successful candidate will need to have a District Nurse Specialist Qualification, or have worked in a leadership role within a community nursing team or similar role - with community related continual professional development evidenced with completion or plan for completion of post graduate community related qualification.
The post holder will be supported and be committed to further development within role either with modular post graduate development or completion of the Specialist Practitioner DN Qualification.
