Role summary
This role is for an experienced clinical practitioner to provide specialist nursing care, advice, guidance, and leadership in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. You will autonomously assess, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based nursing care, managing your own workload as a lead specialist. The position involves providing expert advice to colleagues, patients, and carers, and undertaking specialist education and training for staff. You will also perform highly specialised physical and clinical skills and undertake non-medical prescribing.
Key responsibilities
- Practice autonomously, demonstrating expert problem solving and clinical decision-making skills.
- Assess, manage, deliver and co-ordinate the plan of care for patients.
- Undertake investigations driven by protocol and within your competence, interpreting results and acting accordingly.
- Provide specialist, expert clinical knowledge to clinical colleagues, patients and carers/relatives.
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and direct care / interventions and evaluate effectiveness.

Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse (Part 1)
- Current NMC Registration
- Masters Degree or equivalent experience
- Specialist qualifications

- Experience in the relevant specialty
- Experience of working in a multi-professional environment
