Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Critical Care unit at Glangwili General Hospital as a Nursing Support Worker. You will deliver high-standard, safe, and individualised patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your duties will include supporting direct patient care, stocking equipment, and assisting with admissions and discharges. You will communicate effectively and adhere to Health Board standards and statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver a high standard of safe, individualised, efficient, cost-effective care under the delegated authority of a Registered Nurse.
- Communicate effectively at all times and contribute to the ward/team philosophy.
- Practice in accordance with Health Board standards and statutory requirements, operating within boundaries of the role.
- Support the registered nurse with direct patient care.
- Stock the unit with equipment.
- Assist with patient admissions and discharges.
Essential criteria
- Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject Or Equivalent experience and can evidence work based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge, and the ability to undertake clinical care duties relevant for the role which is gained through experience and worked based training/short courses.
- Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW).
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting for example the principles of Safeguarding adults/children to keep patients within their care safe, and confidentiality for example General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
- Experience of working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice
- Experience of working within the NHS.

Job summary
Exciting opportunity to join an inspiring motivated team within the Critical Care unit in Glangwili General Hospital.
The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of a high standard of safe, individualised, efficient, cost-effective care under the delegated authority of a Registered Nurse.
The post-holder will communicate effectively at all times and in conjunction with other ward/team members, contribute to and maintain the ward/team philosophy.
The post-holder will practice in accordance with Health Board standards and statutory requirements and operate within the boundaries of the role and assessed competencies.
Main duties of the job
You will be helping to ensure that critical care runs smoothly by undertaking duties outlined by the Nurse in Charge on a day to day basis. This will involve supporting the registered nurse with direct patient care, stocking unit with equipment , assisting with admission and discharges.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
