Role summary

This role is for an experienced and motivated Senior Radiographer/Nuclear Medicine Technologist on a 12-month fixed-term contract, working 30 hours per week. The successful candidate will perform advanced nuclear medicine diagnostic and non-imaging procedures, including SPECT/CT, and independently handle radiopharmaceutical operations and quality assurance. Duties also involve sub-dispensing and administering radiopharmaceuticals and non-radioactive drugs, as well as providing basic radiation protection advice to patients.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide basic radiation protection advice to patients and carers.
  • Gain intravenous access for investigations in adult patients.
  • Administer pharmaceuticals via various routes, including subcutaneous or oral, and sentinel lymph node injections.
  • Administer radioactive medicinal products and adjunct drugs as required.
  • Be aware of potential adverse effects from administered drugs.

Essential criteria

  • Experience of Nuclear medicine
  • DCR or BSc Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent or Nuclear Medicine qualification
  • Health and Care Professions, Council Registration or Virtual Register of Clinical, Technologists Registration
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Able to follow procedures and protocols
  • Logical & Methodical manner
  • Communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to deal with clients who have barriers to communication (language, deafness, learning difficulties)
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality

  • Evidence of CPD
  • Word Processing/Excel skills Knowledge of life support skills
