Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) health practitioner in Coventry. The post holder will work in a dynamic team, holding a senior position with a key role in the day-to-day running of the MASH. Responsibilities include analysing and interpreting health information regarding the risk of significant harm to children and families, and contributing to multi-agency decision-making to safeguard and protect children. The role requires expertise in child safeguarding issues and experience working with multiagency and multidisciplinary colleagues.
Essential criteria
- Registered Professional
- Educated to degree level/Professional Health Registration or experience in safeguarding /child protection
- Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent knowledge/skills in safeguarding children, young people/Evidence of continued professional development in safeguarding children to level 3 (Intercollegiate Guidance 2019)
- Understanding of the multiagency roles involved with children & families / Think Family/wider healthcare environment and multidisciplinary roles
- Sound knowledge of local and national legislation and policy, e.g., Children Act 1989, GDPR, Working Together to Safeguarding Children (2023) Care Act 2014, Domestic Abuse Act 2021
- Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to partners from a broad range of agencies, disciplines, and services.
- Ability to analyse very complex issues where the material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources.
- Able to challenge decisions and escalate in an articulate rational manner
- Experience/skills in identifying and responding to Children who have been the victims of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA)
- Other
- Able to travel for work purposes and have access to an independent means of transport.
