Role summary
This Management Accountant role supports operational managers and the Senior Finance Manager by providing timely and accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and effective budget management. The position involves delivering high-quality management accounting and business partnering services to Healthcare Partners Ltd (HPL) and its clients. Key duties include providing financial information to clinical and non-clinical colleagues, analysing variances and trends in monthly budget statements, and assisting budget managers with financial recommendations. The role is critical for achieving financial excellence within HPL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Finance Manager / Head of Finance in providing a complete professional financial service to the service area.
- Deliver high-quality management accounting and business partnering services to HPL & the clients.
- Provide timely, accurate financial information to clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
- Provide monthly budget statements and financial reports analysing variances and trends in accordance with reporting timetables.
- Assist budget managers with financial information and recommendations for action.
- Assist in the production of integrated financial and business plans, contributing to annual budget setting and financial planning.
Essential criteria
- Business related Bachelor's Degree or AAT Level 4 Completed or CIMA Certificate level completed or ACCA - Minimum 6 Papers Completed or CIPFA Certificate in Management and Financial Accounting completed or qualified with experience.
- Experience in ERP System using the Finance Module - minimum of 2 years
- Able to analyse and interpret complex financial and non-financial data, able to present this in a clear and intelligent way.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to communicate at all levels within and external to the organisation, and to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial staff.
Desirable criteria
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Microsoft 365 (Cloud Suite)
