Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Diabetes Inpatient Specialist Nurse (DiSN) to lead improvements in diabetes care within the Inpatient Diabetes team at Liverpool University Hospitals (Aintree Hospital). An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Diabetes Inpatient Specialist Nurse (DiSN) to be at the forefront of driving up standards and quality in diabetes care within the Inpatient Diabetes team of Liverpool University Hospitals (Aintree Hospital).

The role will also include working in a variety of clinical areas within inpatient diabetes nurse service, there will also be some development opportunities to work in outpatient clinics including complex MDT foot clinic within the Diabetes Centre and sub specialist clinics e.g. antenatal clinic, pre-operative assessment clinic .

The successful applicant must have more than 6 months (Band 6 or above) experience of working autonomously within the specialist field as a Diabetes Inpatient Specialist nurse and with the ability to work to evidence-based guidelines; audit the care given to patients to make and suggest improvements in services.

The post holder will also be required to deliver complex educational packages to health care professionals and patients around effective diabetes management.
