Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join a dedicated team. You will manage a specialist caseload, supporting patients and families through complex health journeys and delivering personalised, high-quality care. The role involves leading specialist vaginal dilatation therapy and contributing to the general adolescent gynaecology service. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, develop autonomous practice, and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a specialist caseload across the Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology service, including FGC/M, Complex Congenital Gynaecology, and Differences of Sex Development.
  • Act as a key point of contact for patients and families, supporting assessment, treatment planning, and continuity of care.
  • Lead specialist vaginal dilatation therapy for patients with vaginal agenesis and those requiring post-operative dilatation.
  • Contribute to the general adolescent gynaecology service, providing care for adolescents with menstrual dysfunction with consultant support.
  • Provide sensitive, age-appropriate information and emotional support, advocate for patients, and ensure safeguarding needs are addressed.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives, support clinical governance, and maintain accurate documentation.

Essential criteria

  • Registered Adult or Paediatric Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Relevant post-registration qualification and/or demonstrable relevant clinical experience that meets the requirements of the role.
  • Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience (Master's level desirable)
  • Evidence of continued professional development in paediatric/adolescent health or gynaecology
  • Significant post-registration experience within paediatrics, adolescent health, or gynaecology
  • Experience managing complex patient pathways and long-term conditions
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Involvement in audit, service improvement, or quality initiatives
