Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse to join the North Sheffield Community Mental Health Team. The role involves providing a range of mental health nursing interventions within a supportive multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating care for service users, working independently and as part of a wider team. The post also requires participation in a duty system on a rotational basis.
Essential criteria
- oWorking knowledge and understanding of MHA/MCA
- oKnowledge and understanding of appropriate therapeutic approaches and engagement strategies
- oKnowledge and understanding of PDR and supervision processes as a supervisee
- oDemonstrable risk assessment and risk management skills with evidence of positive risk taking
Desirable criteria
- Additional skills /training in psychosocial interventions for people with SMI, CBTp and family interventions
- oRelevant Health or Social Care professional qualification - Nursing
- Training and qualifications
- oRelevant Health or Social Care professional qualification - Nursing or Social Work
- oCurrent registration with NMC, HCPC
- oEvidence of continued professional development
- oMentorship qualification
- oSupervision training
- oExperience of multi-disciplinary team working
- oExtensive experience in mental health in both inpatient and community settings
- oExperience of managing/supervising others
- oExperience of working in a recovery focussed way
- oAble to work with a male-only caseload

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse at the North Sheffield Community Mental Health Team. You will provide a range of mental health nursing intervention as part of a supportive and dynamic multi disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
You will need to possess excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of the wider team in order to assess, plan and evaluate care. You should have a positive approach to meeting the needs of our service users and be motivated, empowered and enthusiastic to both learn and share.
You will also likely to be expected to work as part of the duty system which operates within the general working hours of 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday on a rotational basis. This 'mini team' is supported by other clinical professional and management.
