Role summary
This role involves leading and developing the Trust's waste management programme, ensuring compliance with NHS sustainability and Net Zero ambitions. You will provide expert advice on waste legislation, oversee contracts, monitor budgets, and analyze performance data to improve environmental performance and reduce costs. The position requires building strong relationships across teams, acting as the Trust's waste management specialist, and supporting procurement, training, and audits. Essential criteria
- Relevant Estates experience within the healthcare sector
- Experience delivering organisational change and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Experience engaging with staff and resolving operational issues.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of managing waste compliantly to the relevant healthcare legislation, specifically Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 07-01.
- Developing and delivering training to suit a range of learning styles and needs
- Understanding of waste legislation and NHS waste standards.
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritise effectively and manage competing deadlines.
- Working knowledge of the Internet and Microsoft Office applications.
- Additional Criteria

- Level 3 Qualification or equivalent experience.
- Willingness to undertake waste or sustainability-related training.
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.

- IEMA Foundation Certificate or equivalent.

The Estates team are looking to recruit an
organised and efficient Waste Officer. The post will be based at Kings Court 2,
Worcester but will have responsibility across both Herefordshire &
Worcestershire. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, accuracy
and the ability to work under pressure using own initiative. The role will also
follow a development plan for the first two years. If you would like to discuss
