Role summary
This is an exciting 12-month fixed-term opportunity for a Band 6 Children's Nurse to join the Treehouse Children's Unit at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, covering maternity leave. The role involves supporting the Ward Manager in leading the team on a 20-bedded acute paediatric ward, including assessment and HDU beds. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Paediatric Nurse who is interested in developing their leadership skills, to support the Ward Manager in leading the Treehouse team.
You would need to be dynamic and thrive under pressure, as well as being committed to delivering outstanding patient care to children, young people and their families.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong patient focus, excellent communication skills and demonstrate that they have the ability to work with and lead a team.

Main duties of the job
We care for children and young people with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions.
The Treehouse Unit is a 20 bedded acute paediatric ward, with 8 paediatric assessment beds(PAU) and 2 HDU beds, we also run day case surgical lists 4 days a week.
Within Treehouse we have a Paediatric Clinical Nurse Educators who will offer you a robust induction plan .
