Role summary
This role involves supervising a team of housekeeping staff to provide high-quality catering and cleanliness services across various hospital sites in Cumbria. You will manage staff distribution, monitor work standards, train new staff, and handle departmental issues. The supervisor ensures adherence to Trust policies, maintains a safe working environment, and delegates daily tasks to uphold cleanliness and meal delivery standards. This is a bank position covering sickness and annual leave, with shifts between 6am-8pm.
Key responsibilities
- Manage staff distribution and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Supervise staff, monitor work standards, and provide training.
- Deal with departmental problems and complaints effectively.
- Complete weekly timesheets and maintain sickness records.
- Ensure adherence to Trust Infection Prevention Policies and maintain a healthy, safe, and secure working environment.
- Delegate daily tasks and monitor work to maintain high cleanliness standards and ensure safe meal regeneration and delivery.
Essential criteria
- Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH)
- Cleanliness in Hospitals
- Demonstrate a period of leading a team within a busy environment.
- Team working
- Experience working with computers and IT based systems
- Domestic experience working within a healthcare setting

Desirable criteria
- Certificate in COSHH
- Certificate in HACCP
- Certificate in Health & Safety
- Knowledge of customer care

- Relevant supervisory experience
- Full clean driving licence
- Ability to travel between the sites from which the Trust undertakes its business, or attend meetings or training off-site.

Job summary
Bank Domestic Housekeeping Supervisors covering Domestic Services across various Cumbria locations.
Covering hospital sites in West Cumbria - Workington, Maryport, Keswick, Cockermouth, Wigton and Whitehaven, also North Cumbria - Carlisle, Brampton and Penrith.
Coverage for sickness and annual leave, as and when required.
Shifts can occur between 6am-8pm, depending on site.
