Role summary
This role involves supporting children, young people, and their families with mental health and wellbeing advice and interventions. - Experience of working in an educational based setting
- Work in community settings with an understanding of partner organisations and key agencies
- Experience of implementing therapeutic interventions
- Competent in supporting clinicians with risk assessments
- Understanding of common mental health problems/disorders
- Able to communicate and build rapport with children, young people, families /carers and other professionals
- To have knowledge of the key legislation and documents that underpin the work in delivering mental health interventions in an educational setting.
- Demonstrate an understanding of duties in relation to Safeguarding
- Ability to deliver group intervention to young people, parents and school staff
- Understanding of education needs of children and young people
- Able to support clinicians in implementing and coordinating the delivery of individual, targeted and group based interventions
- Ability to develop and support the implementation of teaching sessions for parents/carers, children/young people and other professionals

There is an exciting opportunity for two Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioners to join our Seisdon Mental Health Support Team.
Post 1: 37.5 hours full timePost 2: 30 hours part time
The Mental Health Support Teams sit at the 'getting help' aspect of the Thrive model and work closely with the different pathways as part of the Children's Mental Health Function.
In the role you will be expected to contribute to assessments and undertake planned interventions with children, young people and their families as directed by qualified practitioners within MHST and/or Supervising Practitioners.
You will be responsible for working with colleagues in enabling schools to develop and embed their mental health and wellbeing strategies. This includes liaising with teaching staff and associated roles within the education setting, as well as with partner services and agencies.
