Role summary

The Clinical Effectiveness Support Officer plays a key role in supporting the Trust's Clinical Effectiveness programme, focusing on clinical audit and NICE activity. This involves coordinating and supporting processes for audit delivery, NICE compliance, and routine reporting. The role combines administrative coordination with hands-on data handling, validation, analysis, and reporting, including supporting national and local clinical audits and maintaining tracking systems. It requires strong IT skills, organisation, attention to detail, and effective communication to manage competing priorities.

Key responsibilities

  • Support delivery of the Trust clinical audit programme including data validation, submission tracking and monitoring progress.
  • Assisting with data analysis, production of reports, charts and summaries.
  • Coordinate and support the NICE implementation process, maintaining records and liaising with clinical teams, tracking actions, progress and compliance.
  • Contribute to routine reporting within the Clinical Effectiveness governance framework.
  • Providing administrative support including central mailboxes, maintaining intranet content and supporting team processes.

Essential criteria

  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
  • Diploma level qualification or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience of working with data, data input and analysis
  • Experience of using spreadsheets or databases to manage and analyse data
  • Experience of progress tracking or coordinating workstreams, action logs or processes
  • Ability to work to deadlines whilst managing competing priorities
  • Experience of ordering/procurement
  • Experience of use and maintenance of web-pages
  • Knowledge of MS office applications, excel, powerpoint and MS Access

Desirable criteria

  • Qualification or training in clinical audit, data analysis, QI or information management
